Give the Gift of Hope

Dear Friends,

Advent is the Season of Hope. It’s a time when we remember God’s ancient promises: to repair the breach, to return exiles home, to heal the wounds of sin and division, to be a light for the nations. CLC was created as a group of concerned lay Catholics committed to the Church – the Body of Christ – to promote healing among all affected by the sexual abuse scandal, to instill a sense of co-responsibility between laity and clergy, to restore trust through transparency and accountability, to empower the laity, and to eliminate clericalism in all its forms. As a charity run totally by volunteers, we rely on the financial support of people like you to keep us going. CLC has now been incorporated and granted charitable status under the Canada Income Tax Act.

Every gift over $10 will receive a charitable receipt. We ask you this Advent to help maintain our important ministry by Giving the Gift of Hope:

• to other lay Catholics who are struggling to keep their faith

• to survivors of clergy sexual abuse who are looking for healing

• to those seeking reconciliation with Indigenous peoples

• to women whose voices need to be respected

• to 2SLGBTQ+ people in need of inclusion & love

• to everyone who needs to hear the ‘good news’ of mercy & compassion that Pope Francis reminds us is the heart of the Church’s mission

Won’t you join the growing number of people who support the work of Concerned Lay Catholics in Canada and keep the hope alive? We take this opportunity to extend to you and yours our sincere gratitude and best wishes for a blessed Christmas. In a world beset by many crises - social, political, ecological, spiritual - may you be messengers of God’s hope in the coming year and beyond.
