A Christmas message from CLC Chair: Dr. Gary Warner, CM

“Many traditions, religious and secular, celebrate a Festival of Light around this time of year. Light is a powerful symbol of life, joy, positive energy, goodness, wisdom. The biblical story recorded in Genesis recounts that God’s first step, after creating heaven and earth, was to create light, from which all life would develop. Christmas celebrates for us the birth of the child Jesus in a manger, incarnation of the universal Christ, lighting the Way of God's love by the example of his life on earth, healing the sick and the wounded, comforting the lonely and forgotten ones.

We are thankful to the volunteers, supporters and attendees at CLC events over the past year as we have endeavoured, rooted in the vision of Jesus and his values, to advocate for healing, reconciliation and transformation in the wake of the sexual abuse scandals and for a revitalized, collaborative Church.

As a non-profit organization run totally by volunteers, we rely on the financial support of people like you to fund our operations. Please support our work with your donations if you are able to. Every dollar counts.

We take this opportunity to extend to you our sincere gratitude and best wishes for a blessed Christmas. In a world beset by many crises - social, political, ecological, spiritual - may you be bearers of God's light in the coming year and beyond.”

Gary Warner, Chair
