Supporting Southdown and Mental Health

Concerned Lay Catholics supports the important work of Southdown Institute who for over 50 years has provided mental health supports to clergy, religious and lay people in ministry. Their annual fundraiser was held on May 11 at the Columbus Centre in Toronto during Mental Health Awareness Week. Our Vice Chair Cathie Pead connected with leaders in this work including Father Stephan Kappler, President and Chief Psychologist of Southdown, and Mr. Rocco Gizzarelli, MSW/RSW and Bishop’s Delegate for the Diocese of Hamilton. Cardinal Collins was honoured this year for his support of Southdown and for mental health in general.
