In his Aug. 20 "Letter to the People of God," Pope Francis appealed to the community of believers to "say an emphatic 'no' to all forms of clericalism" in a bid to combat the law of silence that has prevailed in the Church for far too long regarding sexual abuse committed by the clergy.
